One of Berlin’s most classical and popular Christmas markets is the market at Schloss Charlottenburg, a beautiful building that in itself attracts thousands of tourists, even during the cold wintermonths.

Good Food in Berlin goes all out during Christmas – as does the city of Berlin. I guess the Christmas markets must be one of the city’s winter trip highlights, which thousands and thousands of tourists visiting the German capital for some old-fashioned European Christmas good times. And everyone loves a good Christmas market, don’t they? Especially this quaint and beautiful market called Lucia, which features some fabulous products and glüh-drinks.
On Monday the 22nd of November 2010, the Weihnächtsmarkte will open their doors to welcome Christmas hungry visitors. Drinking Glühwein, Eierlikör, rumpunch and eating Bratwurst and Mutzenmandeln – experience the real Christmas atmosphere at one of Berlin’s 89 Christmas markets. And of course, Good Food in Berlin will tell you where to go.
This week, I ended up in a chain restaurant. If you have read me writing about chain restaurants before, you know I am not a big fan. But sometimes you just end up in one – even without knowing it.
I had mentioned it briefly before, in our best locations for drinking a cup of coffee in Berlin. But Café Bilderbuch (Café Picture Book) deserves a lot more than a brief coffee recommendation. It is a library, a place for art, a gallery and a restaurant all in one.
