Soon, soon it shall be that time of year again. Our favourite, joyous season during which we will spread alcoholic and food-clever joy and cheer. The time of the German Christmas markets in coming soon. Since many of you will either be visiting or exploring Berlin during the season of its beautiful and enticing Christmas markets, we organize our Christmas markets special each and every year.

The magical days of true Christmas spirit and enjoyment are only a few days away. If you are spending Christmas in Berlin, either as a visiting tourist or a stay-at-home Berliner, you might be wondering what to do in this large city with so many possibilities. That is why we have collected a small handy list of tricks and tips for the first days of Christmas.

Another absolutely fabulous market (because actually: which Berliner Weihnachtsmarkt is not fabulous?) is the Christmas market at and around the Opernpalais. This palace of the opera is one of the most classically beautiful spots in Berlin Mitte and will wisk you away with its magic. Seriously: if you have not been here yet, whether a tourist or a long-term expat, you should definitely pop by the Weihnachtsmarkt am Opernpalais.

All I want for Christmas, are the markets. My favourite, my favourite, my most special and beloved Christmas market of all time. Among the large flurry of brightly lit Christmas markets in Berlin, I have fallen in love with Lucia. When we saw each other for the first time, my palms got all sweaty, my heart started racing in my chest and I could not stop smiling. This Scandinavian Weihnachtsmarkt in the courtyard of the in Prenzlauer Berg located Kulturbrauerei is absolutely beautiful.

If someone would ask me, “Which christmas market would you visit if you only had time for one?”, I would wholeheartedly answer with the Gendarmenmarkt. Yes, it is a bit more touristy than cute and quaint little markets that are hidden away in outskirts of Berlin, but it is also more the prettier. So, if you come to visit Berlin and you would like to enjoy one christmas market, you ought to definitely hit this beauty in the city center, in a side street off Unter den Linden.
