Sometimes you want to find a small, secluded and low-key place to shut yourself away in. With a little bit of wi-fi, a freshly baked bread roll and some strong and flavoursome coffee. Nothing too special or crazy, just a small moment of relaxation in Berlin’s busy and fast-paced life. Especially since autumn has introduced its cold chilly winds, beautifully coloured leaves and the promise of winter in the air.

Since there is a large lack of information on the internet of which places have wireless internet (wifi) in which Bezirk in Berlin, I thought it time to start collecting our own list of internet-able places in Berlin, organised per area. The start-off is with the popular hip and fashionable hood of Friedrichshain.

On the beautiful Carl-Herz-Ufer with a stunning view of the canal languidly floating by and in the middle of Kreuzkölln – probably a bit more Kölln than Kreuz – you ought to pop into the brand new a.horn bar and brunch, lunch and dinner location. It is a restaurant, a brunch hot spot and a great bar all rolled into one.

On the Alte Schönhauser Allee, just down the street from the hyped Monsieur Vuong, one stumbles onto the bar- restaurant Blaues Band. It is exactly what one would expect from a bar and restaurant in Mitte. It is bright, sleek, design-y (without being too overbearing) and cosy. Upon entering, the first thing you see a large wooden round bar that looks more than welcoming with its dozens of bottles temptingly displaying their potentially intoxicating liquids. But is the food here nice?

I had mentioned it briefly before, in our best locations for drinking a cup of coffee in Berlin. But Café Bilderbuch (Café Picture Book) deserves a lot more than a brief coffee recommendation. It is a library, a place for art, a gallery and a restaurant all in one.

It is finally summer in Berlin! One of our recommendations for a mouthwatering meal or a tempting taste is a small restaurant on the Rosenthaler Platz. Sip a drink while sitting outside underneath lusciously green trees or cosy up inside for some savory sustenance.

In the middle of the lively Bezirk Friedrichshain in Berlin, you can find a suprisingly delicious restaurant serving real Russian delicacies. In Datscha, on the corner of the Simon Dach Straße, you can nibble on scrumptious blini’s and much, much more.

One day in the early spring, back in the days we had not really been exploring the culinairy delights of Berlin that consciously, we went to Oranium on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Oranium is a mainstream German-cuisine oriented restaurant located on the Oranienburger Straße. The Oranienburger is basically in the middle of the touristic center of Berlin and close to the well-known Hackescher Markt, the Museumsinsel and the golden Synagogue. And the restaurant is a nice haven for resting in-between a hectic day of exploring Berlin.
