Looking out over the Volksbühne, a classical architectural landmark in Berlin’s pulsating Bezirk Mitte, one stumbles across the small restaurant called Voss. Due to its location next door to the cult cinema Babylon, Voss is either relatively empty and relaxed – or brimming with people who have just wandered out of the cinema. Voss is a relatively large restaurant, but due to its casual atmosphere, it feels small and cosy. Its staff is always friendly and willing to lend a hand – and with its great and diverse menu with a large stamp of budgetproof-ness on it, Voss is a safe bet for any occassion.

We have always loved sushi and we will remain sushi lovers forever. And a couple of months ago, we stumbled into a not-yet discovered sushi restaurant in Prenzlauer Berg. And yes, I know, there are so many sushi places in Berlin that it is insanely confusing. But because this city knows so many sushi eateries it can be really, really difficult to find a good place for eating sushi. Mikoto, however, is another very nice place with good quality sushi.

In the midst of snowy evenings and chilly winterdays, and after all those christmas markets in Berlin, it is time to move on to the warmer corners of the world. After weeks of mind-numbing chills, maybe you too feel like it is time for some warm and cuddly foods in a comfortable and sweet environment.

Since I have started working in Mitte, I have been drawn to passionately exploring the local eateries during lunch. And one of my favourite Mittag haunts has been this Vietnamese restaurant, on the Rosa Luxemburg Straße and almost bordering on the large city hub Alexanderplatz. Ho Vang is a fabulously flavoursome and brilliantly budget proof Vietnamese restaurant where you can eagerly enjoy your most beloved Asian food dishes. A great getaway for anyone yearning for a luscious lunch.

Ever since I moved to Prenzlauer Berg, I have been cycling by a restaurant on the Schönhauser Allee that I have wanted to visit since I first laid eyes on it. For almost a year, I have been dying to visit Mamay, a small and minimalistic looking Asian restaurant on the Schönhauser Allee…

On the well-known and lively Bergmannstraße, not too far away from the restaurant Milagro and in the middle of the casual Kreuzberg lifestyle, we find the small restaurant-meets-eatery called Knofi. Knofi is a widely known concept to most Berlin residents, and we will discover today why…

One of the most well-known and hyped Asian restaurants in Berlin, Monsieur Vuong had to be tried and tested as a good food location. It is always packed with eating customers and when one finally manages to get inside, one is in for a suprising food twist.

One of our favourite sushi locations in Friedrichshain is Le Coq D’or (The golden cock), on the Boxhagener Straße. Only around the corner from the popular Simon Dach Kiez, is a rather semi-large restaurant with a large collection of sushi on offer. Yes, the deco might be a bit off and yes, it is not your average hoity toity super sleek sushi saloon. But do not judge a book by its cover.

In a small side street, just around the corner from the Eberswalder Straße in Prenzlauer Berg, you can find another of Berlin’s many Vietnamese sushi restaurants. However, if you are looking for great food for absolutely budget prices in a great atmosphere, Sushi Number One is the place to be!

Our first facebook fan recommendation that we tested out on a celebratory Friday evening. In the middle of the hustle and bustle of Kreuzberg, only a few steps away from the Oranienstraße, you can find many little boutique restaurants. Green Rice, a Vietnamese mini-restaurant, is one of them. Prepare to amaze your tastebuds!
